Emi Dixon (UK)

Emi Dixon (UK)
Running since: 2007

First race ever: Longleat 10k 2009, 55min

Why did you start running: Let’s say I was a troubled teenager. The question I ask myself more is why I’ve never been able to stop.

Best race ever: Lavaredo Ultra Dolomites 2022

Favorite race event: CCC

The good: the community, freedom, strength, the places it takes you, feeling totally disconnected from the world but fully connected to yourself, the way it serves as a microcosm of most life lessons

The bad: winter, injuries

The ugly: my feet

Your favourite Willpower item: Beyond the heat Windbreaker or Sherpa Jacket

Top5 Running Songs: I don’t run with music

Top5 Ever Songs: that would take me days to decide

Favourite Pre-Race meal: oats, cinnamon and banana. Tea.

Favourite Post-Race meal: Some type of bún chan… noodles, tofu, raw veg, herbs and peanuts

Wanna share a recipe? Sure, this is a vegan adaption of grandma’s tea loaf:
250g dried fruit and 2 black tea bags in 300ml boiling water, leave overnight. The next day remove the teabags then mix in 275g plain flour, 4 tsp baking power, 1 tsp mixed spice, 90g unsweetened soy yoghurt > 900g loaf tin > 180°C ca. 1 hour.

Favorite quote:  ‘I ask myself “when I am old how much would I be willing to pay to travel back in time and relive the moment that I’m experiencing right now”’(Muneeb Ali). That thought brings me immediate perspective and gratitude.
