Henning Lenertz (GER)

Henning Lenertz (GER)

Running since: 2012

First race ever (date, place, time): Hamburg Halbmarathon (2012), 1:42

Why did you start running: Get to know a girl (who was a runner)

Your best race ever: my first 100 k trail race (Festival des Templiers)

Favorite race event: I want to race Western States Endurance Run

The good (about running): It's a true sport that shows your strengths and weaknesses. Mentally as well as physically.

The bad (about running): It's a true sport that shows your strengths and weaknesses. Mentally as well as physically.

The ugly (about running): Often input (in training) and output (in races) do not stand in a direct relation. You invest hours, weeks, months and years of training to make a race as short as possible – and the possibility to fail is always there.

Your favorite Willpower item: Trucker Foam Mesh Cap (of course)

Top5 Running Songs: I don't listen to music while running

Top5 Ever Songs: changes every couple of weeks

Favorite Pre-Race meal: curry with rice, pasta, ... whatever I can get (the evening before) ; porridge and coffee (in the morning)

Favorite Post-Race meal: Lay's chips (salted) and a Clif Bar (coconut chocolate chip)

Wanna share a recipe? Bohnen a la Afrika. Tasty as fuck but not a good pre race meal at all ;))

Running Mantra or favorite quote: I don't have a mantra but I really like "Run till death". To me it has two main meanings which I both strive for.
